Seraina Bartetzko

Master Student

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in summer 2020 and was able to write my bachelor thesis as a member of the research group of PD Dr. Carlos Ros. I investigated the intracellular trafficking of parvoviruses, especially of minute virus of mice (MVM) with various in vitro laboratory techniques with cell cultures.
September 2020, I joined the group of Ass. Prof. Dr. phil.nat. Sonja Kleinlogel for my Master thesis. Currently, I am working on a project aiming to restore vision in inherited retinal pathologies such as retinitis pigmentosa (RP) by CRISPR-mediated endogenous opsin activation in ON-bipolar cells.
Whenever I am not in the laboratory ambitiously doing research, I am out in the nature performing almost any kind of sports and I just enjoy it.
